Talking 'bout politics
As of today, WYOU news director Frank Andrews is locked in the primary election for 113th District State Representative. The deadline to withdraw from the race has passed, but it is important to note this is only for the primary. Should Andrews win the primary, he would move on to the general election, and thus be forced to resign from WYOU due to conflict of interest. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens in May.Nexstar also got around to taking Andrews' picture from WYOU's website. They had pulled him off-air and from station promos, but seemed to forget about his online presence until now. And speaking of an online presence, Andrews has his own campaign website as well.
Also, knowing that any post I make on Andrews will be met with a flurry of criticism, I remind you to keep it civil. Legitimate criticism is fine. Personal attacks and unsubstantiated rumors won't even make it out of the moderation queue.

Hey Frank, if you win, how about a job?
So, who's running the show at WYOU? Is Andrews still "news director" or is on a leave of absence? Or is the WBRE Interim News Director/Executive Producer WBRE running both stations for the time being?
Any other comments about Andrews are not personal attacks or rumors. The guy's reputation has been down the toilet for years. He just keeps digging himself a deeper hole.
If someone like Bush can run and win an election, so can Frank! Go Frank! Wish all the luck in the world. I did enjoy him on WYOU. I will vote for you!
You can take the newsman out of the station...well, actually you can't. While the details are sketchy, Frank's presence will still be felt.
Just when you thought he was out, they pull him back in.
FTVLive is reporting that Frank resigned from his News Director/Anchor position. They are quoting an article that ran in the Scranton newspaper.
I can't believe you said you would vote for him b/c you enjoyed him on air! What kind of logic is that? That's one voter who shouldn't have voters rights!
Frank has a lot of baggage, and his opponents know it. It's only a matter of time before his candidacy self destructs. It will be a major accomplishment to finish third in a field of five.
In that field, he's the best for the job hands down. I am pulling for you Frank, good luck. Winning just means these guys will have to look elsewhere for gossip. We all know Nexstar is a sick sick place. Be glad you resigned on your terms.
