Where are they now?
Today, we feature former WBRE weather forecaster Kim Martucci.
Describing her favorite hobby is chasing tornadoes, Martucci got her start at WRCB in Tennessee. After a few stops guessing the weather in the south and northeast - including one at FOX O&O WFXT in Boston - she headed to WSI, a company that supplies weather-forecasting software to TV stations.
Television seemed to lure her back, and in 2002, she came to WBRE. You might remember one particular newscast, where she had one hell of a coughing fit during her weather segment. But the big leagues came calling, and in 2004, Martucci exercised a 20-and-out clause in her contract, and packed her bags...and presumably a few cough drops!
Where is she now? Martucci is the morning weather forecaster at WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C.

overrated!!!
Maybe, but I would have enjoyed wrestling her.
8:50 says: overrated!
Possibly, but despite a few unprepared moments (well, maybe more than a few), she connected well with her audience. As a morning weathergal, she might be just the right person in DC -- a good, sparkling wake-up presence.
She would also make a great stunt double for the late Fred Gwynne's Herman Munster.
She eclipses the morning news team -- in promos she looks a foot taller than the anchors. Ch 9 (CBS affiliate, Gannett) is buried in last place in am local news.
I dunno...I saw her in an evening gown at the Make-A-Wish telethon and she looked pretty good...tall...but good!
Kim is a stand up gal, down to earth and very caring. She's one of the very few real friends you can make in television that doesn't have a chip on her sholder. Her TV personality is just how she is everyday, upbeat and chearful. She also a lot less "creapy" then her current replacement. Now saying that, I remember one time she accidently swore on air. She was talking about a bad rain storm that was coming and the chance for flooding, in her search for the right phrase to talk about how bad it would be like "it's going to make for a tricky commute" she accidently (and didn't know it till after the newscast and watched the show back in the news director's office) said "That's going to be a bitch."
SO WHAT IF THE STATION SHE WORKS FOR IN DC IS IN LAST PLACE -IT IS STILL A BETTER MARKET THAN WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON. YOU ARE JUST JEALOUS. AND AS FAR AS MAKING FUN OF HER APPEARANCE --JUST THE TYPICAL MEAN-SPIRITED COMMENTS FROM PEOPLE WHO MOST LIKELY DON'T MEASURE UP!
These are all mean comments from people who don't measure up in talent or height.
Martucci is a fine example of a solid TV personality using this market to jump: she hopped around looking for the right fit. She's probably still looking.
While this is a fine place to live, WHO would ever want to settle in this news market? It's not that shit doesn't hit the fan here, it's about HOW it's presented, covered.
Compare TV news here to a market like Providence, only a few markets larger. Stations here, all of them, cover news in the dark ages: none more guilty than 16. So they have toys! Can they use them to put a little pulse into their newscasts? Hell no.
Look at WBRE: there's no figuring out how those folks operate a news gathering department: lookin' good one day, the next day they're missing the the boat entirely.
WYOU, one thing: Legal Mailbag. You decide for yourself.
Cheers, Martucci.
I always thought Martucci was a great weather forecaster. Hell, anyone whose favorite past time is chasing down tornadoes can't be bad!
