WYOU news director on paid leave

WYOU news director Frank Andrews, who is one of many gunning for a seat in the state legislature, has been put on paid leave, pending his decision of whether to run for office. If he wins the spring primary, he says he'll resign. Otherwise, he plans to return to WYOU.

For now, anchorwoman Diane Lee will be going solo in the newscasts, and WYOU has pulled Andrews from station promos. Looks like they forgot about their website though, since Andrews is still in the headline banner. D'oh!

On a side note, I feel bad for Ron Krisulevicz. First, WBRE promoted him from executive producer to fill in for fired news director Paul Stueber. Now, it looks like he'll be filling in for Andrews as well.

If this report is accurate, that's a generous and out of character
move for WYOU.

As for Ron at WBRE, Good Luck!

Frank's running mates better pay attention. Demand equal time on radio stations likes WILK w/ Sue Henry and wherever else Frank raises his ugly head.

Yeah, like that shouldn't speak an encylopedia's worth about WYOU's effectiveness. WBRE is bad, WYOU is, well, you can fill in the blank...

That paid leave will likely last about seven minutes. If he runs, he's gone. March 22nd is the last day for withdrawl - if you don't withdraw, you're on the ballot, you are a candidate. Dead, alive, comatose, taken by aliens, your name is on the ballot. To state the obvious, March 22nd is the day to watch.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the March 22 deadline is only for the spring primary. And if Andrews wins that and moves to the general election, then yes, he'll have to resign. Otherwise, he'll return to WYOU.

At 7:05pm, the tide started dropping on this board. This: I used to work for the moron. I should know how much of an idiot he is. can be re-written to express the same idea in a somewhat better way.

The tide is turning? I don't think so. The above comment was tame, compared to the vulgar and libelous comments about Andrews that never make it out of the moderation queue.

I've always said legitimate criticism is OK, but I'm becoming wary of posting anything about Andrews, be it good or bad. Some people have an ax to grind with him, and as far as I'm concerned, they can grind them elsewhere.

To Howard: An ax to grind? Or telling the truth? Why would so many people be commenting in a similiar way? Did they all get together in anonymous-land and decide to make up the same stuff about this guy?? Please, don't insult our intelligence.

The people with the ax to grind are the people who keep submitting comments about various allegations into Andrews' personal life. And here's a surprise...those are the comments that never make it out of the moderation queue.

Don't like Andrews? That's fine. Criticism is allowed. But as I said from day one, keep it civil.

I see someone is still in the habit of finding ways to NOT show up for work, yet still be paid.
