Where are they now?

Today, we feature former WYOU reporter Melissa Becker-Sgroi.

Becker-Sgroi, like many reporters in this market, was born and raised in the area. She started out as a reporter/anchor for WILK radio, before hopping over to WYOU as an assignment editor/morning reporter. Becker-Sgroi took a break from WYOU in 1992, but later returned as the weekend anchor. Six years later, she and her unusually-long-last-name-for-television packed it up and left WYOU.

Where is she now? Becker-Sgroi is a professor at King's College in Wilkes-Barre.

She used to be a student aide at King's as Melissa Becker (class of '88). She's now in the Communications Department.

btw: At WTNH in New Haven CT, beloved anchor Gerri Webb got married and went six months as Gerri Webb Harris, then changed permanently to Gerri Harris. For continuity purposes, it's the best change-of-name I've seen.

I worked with Melissa and she was good, good and tough, but fair. She really put her heart into a story and you could always count on her to deliver...

She always had such a spark about her when she was on the news. I enjoyed watching because you could tell she was genuine.
