Prutisto out at WYOU?

A tipster claims WYOU will not renew the contract of reporter Gabrielle Prutisto.

"Who's she?"

I don't blame you for asking. Prutisto hasn't been seen on TV since January. Sources say she was in a bad accident, and has been using sick time and leave since then. Hopefully Prutisto is recovering from whatever it was.

The original tipster said her job was posted, but I don't see it on WYOU's websie yet. WBRE is looking for a reporter though...

Does WYOU really need to replace her with the format the way it is? It isn't like they need a bunch of reporters. They can just use stories from BRE and if it is a major story I'm sure you'll probably see one of their reporters appear on WYOU. Just my two cents.

That posting is missing something.... hmmm... what is it, hmmmm... oh yeah, "must be able to shoot their own video and must be willing to work for peanuts".

BEFORE a candidate applies for this position---he/she should be directed to this website for a taste of the "real" channel 50

People do have private lives and perhaps she prefers to keep hers private. If not, she should visit here and let us all know any real truth involved. Her choice, as I see it. Anyway, I wish her well, both personally and professionally. Good luck on both counts!

How did she manage to milk Nexstar for an entire year? Sick Leave? I am curious what her plans are next. Politics maybe?

Q:Didn't Frank get her job @ WYOU in the 1st place? Maybe he knows what's going on.

She and a photog were legitimately injured in an accident roughly a year ago. Watch carefully where she surfaces following her not being renewed.

If you're a sniffer of clues, trails, etc., her not being renewed could be a another signal that the end of the trail is clearly in sight for WYOU News. For one, I say it won't survive the first half of the new year.

A highly reliable source says she is headed for Harrisburg with Andrews...

Low-speed crash or not, the photographer behind the wheel was also seriously hurt, wasn't he? What's his situation?

If she was hurt while working it isn't sick leave, it's workers comp and Nextar has no choice.

I sincerely doubt Mr. Andrews has any idea what's going on.

I pray no potential reporter/anchor unfamiliar with the area would ever come across this site. The bitching, namecalling, and negativity is enough to turn anyone away from not only Nexstar but the entire market in general.

10:45am: Maybe it's none of your business.

There was no damage whatsoever to the vehicle they were riding in in this accident - yet she's been out for a year. The photographer who has also been out had a pre-existing back condition discovered and surgically repaired. He has tried to come back a couple of times now. Gabrielle has made no attempt.

I've heard they did investigate about insurance fraud as she has been spotted out doing normal things - including chasing kids around at a Red Barons event and picking them up just a couple months after the accident.

Why she can't work who knows. It's not like she's a photographer lugging around equipment. She has to carry a pen, notebook and wireless mic. Or she could come to work and sit at a desk and produce or answer phones.

Are you referring to the post or just making a statement? Either way, I think you're on to something...

My sources tell me Gabrielle was shifted over to the WBRE side along with Monteforte. She never appeared on air because of her injury.

That's why there's a WBRE reporter job posted.

Sorry...just expressing concern about someone I'm told is a good guy.

Tell me again about all the negativity on this site.

One of the greatest blessings any potential reporter/anchor could receive would be to come across this blog and take very seriously all that is said about Nexstar, because all of it is true. In fact, it's far worse than words on a blog can amply describe. Just where do you think the "bitching, namecalling, and negativity" originates? Why do you suppose it exists?

As to Shimkus being unaware of what's going on with her, you must be kidding me. If you think that, then you are clearly and completely out of touch with the topic of this thread.

And she was hurt on the job, so it was Nexstar's WC carrier that paid the bills, if they were in fact paid. Any dim bulb here who thinks being granted disability or WC benefits is easy is just that, a dim bulb.

As someone who has suffered significant neurological impairment because of a head injury, I can only surmise that she got a good bop on the noggin and it has prevented her from doing some things that are essential in a tv setting. Just a guess.

As someone who manages and administers WC claims here locally and just lurks here because she loves the mudslinging amongst employees, getting WC benefits is a CAKEWALK, an absolute CAKEWALK. Any person who doesn't believe that is a dim bulb. Just look in your phonebook, or stay home and watch daytime TV. You people in the TV biz should do a story on the overly litigious society we live in.

"...getting WC benefits is a CAKEWALK..."

As someone who was entitled to benefits(and went through the process)let me say that you are absolutely full of shit. You don't work with, on, or are connected with WC claims in any way, shape, or form. What you are is a bitter individual who's convinced that the woman under discussion here is "getting away" with something.

Rather than continue the argument, I'll just say that you must have had the wrong attorney.

If you worked for WC, you'd know that you are not in any way required to have an attorney as you go through the process. You may if you wish, but WC judges hear cases all the time where the claimant does not have representation.
