WNEP producer dies

Erin Hollingshead, who produced WNEP's 7 p.m. newscast, died recently. She was only 27 years old. My condolences to her family.

How sad. I knew Erin -- not well -- but she always had a smile and something nice to say. My thoughts are with her family.

Just too young to depart this life. May her memory be eternal.

This should not be a forum! Have some respect.

I think it is necessary be respectful and mention the unfortunate passing of a local journalist, whether their face was on TV, or not. What isn't necessary is any further gossip on the matter, and you won't see it here.

Howard was in the right to bring up the untimely death of an WNEP employee. Perhaps folks who used to work there may not know what happened any other way. I am with Howard on this one.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Erin's friends, family, and co-workers.

To the first poster at 2:31 am....I don't believe Howard was posting this to be mean... Some of us who knew Erin, a lot of people here on this blog, would like remember her for the good person she was. her passing is not gossip, it a fact. She reported facts and will be greatly missed...
This is not gossip!!!!! Sorry if this offends anyone.

Erin was a great person and a pleasure to work with. She had tremendous work ethic and was a total team player. She always had a smile and had nothing but positive things to say. I just hope this topic doesn't turn into gossip central. It should be to remember a person that left us way too soon! The Hammond and Hollingshead families are in my thoughts and prayers.

I agree with Howard. Insted of using this an opertunity to complain (again) those who worked with her should take a moment to say how much their going to miss her. Producers are always forgoten in the news cycle by those with bigger heads and that it sounds like in this case, many of you want to ignore her because she wasn't in front of the camera. As journalists covering the same area, you should be united together in rememberance... not divided apart because of your own biases. If you don't like what's posted in this form, go start your own. Once this blog starts censoring certain reportable events because they don't match a certain criteria, then the whole point of it is lost... along with any jouranlistic integrity. An "insider" blog should take you INSIDE and say what's really going on... no matter what the context. Heck if it can be talked about on the talkback message boards, home of big time censorship, then it can most certainly be a blog post here. Erin will not only be missed by her family but by those who worked so closely with her and grew to know her bright personality.

WHEN A WOMAN WITH THE ADMIRABLE QUALITIES ERIN HAD IS TAKEN FROM US, WE ALL SHOULD LOOK AT LIFE AND HOW WE FEEL ABOUT WHAT WE DO IN A VERY DIFFERENT WAY. ERIN WAS A PRODUCER, YES, BUT SHE WAS ALSO ONE OF THE KINDEST AND MOST CARING INDIVIDUALS I HAD EVER KNOWN. IT IS A SHAME THAT SHE WAS TAKEN FROM US, ESPECIALLY SINCE THERE ARE PEOPLE IN OUR BUSINESS WITH NOTHING NICE TO SAY ABOUT ANYONE. SOME OF THESE "PEOPLE" HAVE EVEN BEEN MEAN SPIRITED ABOUT THE DECEASED. "PEOPLE" WHO WORKED WITH ERIN EVERYDAY, WHO SHOULD BE HAPPY TO HAVE THEIR "KISS ASS JOBS" SHOULD THINK BEFORE THEY SHOVE THEIR DIRTY FEET ION THEIR OWN MOUTHS. ALSO CONDOLENCES TO ERINS FAMILY, ESPECIALLY HER HUSBAND WHO WAS MARRIED TO THE ANGEL FOR ONLY A SHORT TIME.
