Where are they now?

Today, we feature former WYOU anchorwoman Penny Lindgren.

A lawyer by training, Lindgren came to WYOU in 1986 as a reporter. She stayed with the station for the rest of her broadcasting career, moving up the ranks from reporter to noon anchor, and eventually 6 p.m. anchor. Lindgren also took up the now-defunct health reporting beat.

After 17 years at WYOU, Lindgren left WYOU in 2004, and moved out of state with her husband. At the time, she planned to continue her television career. Kind of odd, since lawyers typically make more money. But hey, do what you love, right?

Where is she now? It appears that Lindgren is no longer in broadcasting.

God I miss seeing her on the news...she was so beautiful, and did an excellent job. We lost a real good one when she left.

You talk about someone who walked in the door without any experience and made the most of her opportunity, it was Penny. She was hired by Jim Church at WYOU when they were serious about getting better and going after 16 and 28. She was 22's answer to a consumer reporter and then fill in anchor and finally main anchor. She may not have been the strongest person in the business when she started but was when she left.

Speaking of Jim Church, he's now operations manager at Washington, DC's ABC affiliate.

Although fine looking on teevee, you never got the full Penny until and if you saw her in person. She was a headturner in person, just a knock-out. Nice lady, too. Another one Nexstar neglected and/or abused until they left.

I bumped into her once in the coffee shop at the airport. She hugged me. Ooh.
