WYOU loses meteorologist

After 12 years, Scott Stuccio is hanging up his hat at WYOU. The station's chief meteorologist will resign on September 28th to take a marketing/on-air analyst job with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the area's minor league hockey team.

"Weather has always been important to Scott, but hockey is his true passion. I've had the opportunity to hear Scott broadcast some Penguins games and I can tell you he is very talented. I have no doubt that Scott will be every bit as successful in his new venture as he has been for many years here at WYOU," news director Ron Krisulevicz told employees via e-mail this week.

Stuccio's job has already been posted on WYOU's website.

(Remember, if you've got a tip, you can anonymously e-mail it, or send it via AOL instant message to Howard Beale NEPA.)

Good for Stuccio. 12 years is nothing to scoff at.

Howard:

Isn't this the point where that Vince Sweeney sycophant jumps in to say "Hire Vince?"

Or am I too late? Is his post already lined up in your queue?

A truly good guy. Only goes to his character that he stayed there as long as he did. Especially considering the fact that Zo...a certain previous ND f***ed him out of a chance for major career advancement. To this day "they" won't cut him any slack and let him out of his contract early.

Good luck Scott. Nexstar was fortunate to have had you as an employee.

Now, bring back Vince!

We are losing the best REAL meteorologist in NEPA.

Josh and the gang are a bunch of jokers.

16's Weather Crew, well, they are worst than 28's.

Good Luck Scott!

Future Weather Predictions Will Pale By Comparison!

I think Vince would be an ideal canidate to replace Scott Stuccio.

Vince would fit right in with the new WYOU format, plus he can bring in better ratings for the station.

A long time ago, the "Today" show brought on a chimp to boost the ratings. Vince could bring in the kitten of the day, as the SPCA has a s***load of them at the moment.

Seems to me Vince has moved on and has done well for himself. He has an important position providing a community service, he's his own boss, and he doesn't have to endure what he faced before. Why should he go in reverse and put up with the same garbage? Sure, he'd be great for the public, but what about his own peace of mind? Vince, you made a good move. Stick with it, and good luck.

I don't think that anyone who have put up with Nextstar would ever consider coming back again as with Sweeney. UNLESS they are in a position to really need the low pay Nexstar offers.
As far as Sid Michael's doing part time-who knows what his reason is for coming back this 3rd time is it?

Wow...only 4 posts in and Vince reference..and 2 posts later, another Zobel reference.
You guys are losers in NEPA. Thank God me and my wife left.

Good luck, Scott!

Ron, if they are losers, why are you responding to them? First, you supposedly "hated" Zobel (during WBRE/WYOU's union days), now you are working for him in Madison? Why would you go to work again for someone you allegedly "hated?" Go deal with your life up there and leave the current Nexstar victims to do the jobs you and your wife couldn't do. You were shit canned right around the time Zobel was, because he couldn't do the job he was brought in to do...get rid of the union. Why were you shit canned? Because you're incompetent. Go away and never come back here.

Yeah, I think a lot of us feel that way. Two no-impact players in the market...

Ron Giordan,

Didn't notice the Zo... reference until you typed his name. Are trying to stir the pot, again?

And, dear God, we're not going to go through more union crap, are we?

It is very scary, the way people post on this site! Best of luck Scott! And it's great to see former Employees of Nexstar send thier best. As for the 11:41 post, PLEASE GET A LIFE!!! The things you mention were six years ago. Please get a life!!!!! Move on, meet new people.

To 9:17 post:

You know the impact we both made. Bigger than anyone else in that market other than Keith Martin. If you still work there, you are the non impact player. The people who move and make names for themselves are the winners. The people who sit here and blame a man and a company for their issues are the non-impact players that just waste air on this earth.
Basically...all of you. Losers who think NEPA matters in the world.

I don't ever post anything on this board, but I've had it with the negativity and insults...

Ron... don't lump all of us in NEPA as losers. Some of us are very educated, talented and intelligent individuals who stay here for our families and for the beautiful landscape and quality of life for ourselves and our children. Not all of us obsess (or even spend one minute thinking about, for that matter) about Vince, Al Zobel, or the quality of local television, so don't judge based on the the select few. I personally resent it and the constant insults to the people of this area are tiresome.

After all, you are not even in the same state and still check out this board... and you call us losers?

Good luck, Scott. You are a great guy, a great meteorologist and I had a great time working (and partying back in the day) with you!! Your new job is a perfect fit.

I have moved on and met new people. I have a much better job and work for a better company. Ron is being a tyrant. He was notorious for that during his Nexstar tenure. Stop defending him.

"After all, you are not even in the same state and still check out this board... and you call us losers?"

Yes, Shannon, I do when former staffers who have moved on call me or e-mail me to tell me that the same losers are still blaming Zobel for their issues.
Take a look at Former Nexstar Victim.
Still " a victim", still lamenting Zobel, still spreading lies about me.

You're right. I shoudn't lump all of you together...it's just that the whiners are the loudest. The real winners are those who have moved on and stopped blaming others for their failings.
Me...I'm a winner who relishes the anger shown by people on this site...relish it because it proves my point!

Ron

PS: I consider being called a tyrant a compliment...I let my paycheck and my wonderful life outside of NEPA prove that.

Apparently the anger management classes aren't working. Ron, it's probably time to go back to taking the entire Prozac: stop splitting the dose.

Ron,
You are completely right about the pathetic nature of those who can't get out from the past and blame others for thier unhappiness, it's one of my biggest pet peeves, and unfortunately, something that if your going to read this board, you have to grit your teeth and endure. However, it's just that name calling and generalizing lowers you to the same substandard character level as the whiners and complainers. Rise above. Stop caring about what the "losers" in NEPA think about you or your boss.

No one is as tired of the moaning and groaning as I am on this website. Let's raise the standard a bit and maybe turn some of these threads into something constructive, rather than just a bitchfest.

I'm very glad you and your family are happy out of NEPA. Just stop insulting those of us who have possibly found happiness in this "dreaded" NEPA.

Shannon Lesniak

P.S. A true "winner" doesn't "relish" other's unhappiness, no matter if they brought it on themselves or not.

Ron was the best producer WBRE ever saw, and smart enough to get out quickly, them move himself and his wife out because living there drains the life out of normal people.

He's hated because he comes here, stirs the pot and watches everyone jump up and down screaming while he laughs at them.

I just spoke to him and he admitted it! That's why he comes here...to see the responses.

Want him to stop...don't respond.

Listen: I've only met Scott once through the Skywarn Spotter program and I find him not only personable, but highly competent. As far as I am concerned Scott Stuccio, Dave and Les are the best team in this area!

This blog has a great habit of trashing people - Sad thing is, can ANY of you who trash him do ANY better? - Gee, I think not!

What goes around comes around...It is real easy to play arm-chair meteorologist/TV personality - but, unless you walk a mile in a person's shoes, you have no right to assault their character or abilities!

Hey now!! Stirring the pot at every news station in the market is the specialty of one person who left his mark in every newsroom. He is, as C Randolph W at bre/you once admitted......"The BEST Pot Stirrer I have ever seen!" So, stop recklessly throwing around a very treasured newsroom spectator sport.....STIRRING THE POT!!! It is not a sport to be taken lightly, Right Gary, John and Jerry? Ron G shouldn't even be associated with it. He couldn't stir the Spaghetti pot.
